October 10th... My big 30...and plus some...

So here are a few moments of "catch up" in Sindee and Kendyl's world. Currently, I think I'm dying. I've been sick for the past 5-6 days with "strep" but have recently developed a cough, continued body aches, constant headache, cold sweats, hot sweats, ear throbbing pain, one nostil is plugged thing, and it's really making me mad! Hopefully I can get back to 100% so I can join the world of the living.

Here's the run down on what we've been up to. Hold on to your pants!

1. Kendyl's field trip to Utah's Musem of Natural History!

Kendyl and this huge mamoth... she looks so tiny next to this thing!
2. Blake's "bunny hops" and the wonderful outcome!

So the morning of my birthday, (Oct. 10) Blake decides to be spontaneous (in my eyes) and tells me he and Moose are going to have a "bunny hop" race... Me, thinking... inner voice, "bunny hop race? Do I need to go get some old pillow cases? Are we going to do this in the back yard? Will Carter and Ezra do it with us" - - I was kind of surprised that Blake would suggest such a weird activity... So I was like, "Okay, cool! Sounds like a fun idea!"

Now, for those of you who are like me, and aren't really into the bikers lingo, I guess "bunny hop" means literally jumping over an object on your bike... (light bulb) I literally thought we were going to be hopping in a pillow case on the lawn... sigh. Man, I felt lame.
Here's cute Ezra checking out Uncle Blake's Ernie beanie and probably wondering why his uncle looks so funny...

Blake in his bunny hop attire!

Huge leaps by Carter! He was lovin' watching his dad and Uncle Blake jump those boxes!

Here's a short vid of Blake and Moose having a fun time!

So to make a long story short, Blake's tire blew when he landed on one of the jumps and he skid onto the grass (thankfully) and completely detached his ulner collateral ligament and broke the tip of his thumb... poor guy. He had an MRI on Monday and surgery the next Tuesday....

After surgery ... :( Not so fun!

Now Blake has this sweet camo cast for a few more weeks and then will have a custome fit splint. One for skiing and one for regular day wear... until his thumb heals!

3. National Talk Like A Pirate Day

Arg! My dearest friend Brittney and her hubby Mike threw a raggin' party on National Talk Like A Pirate Day! Kendyl and I dressed up like pirates and had a ball!

Britt, Kendyl, and Mike! Such scary pirates!

Pete, my date!

Kendyl, Adam, and Avery! They were playing find the treasure, battling with swords, and eating lots of veggies (that's what pirates eat!) They were so cute!

4. Ingrid Michaelson

I heart Ingrid. I saw her three summers ago and fell in love her! My friends Britt, Jeanette, Natalie, Brenda, and Emily got tickets and went to her show at In The Venue. She is so incredible. She is real, funny, and is a natural entertainer.

Unforunately, the venue has made the upstairs standing only, so Emily, being preggers, sat down stairs with Brenda while the rest of us stood up top. They still enjoyed the show, but I wish we could have all sat together....

Ingrid and her crew...

Don't worry... if you're feelin' a little gasy? Natalie has the cure. That girls purse has it all! Who knew they made GasX in thin strips??

I'm really not upset, I was more worried I was going to drop my phone while taking this photo!

5. Finally, my big 30th

I think I'm the only one who throws themselves their own birthday party... but I love birthdays! And I love mine! I think my 30th celebration lasted about 4 days... and then some.

Friday I went shopping and to dinner with Blake... Delicious Cucina Toscana! Yummers! I love that place and it was such a fun night!

Saturday, we had the fun bunny hops which was a downer, but it didn't stop us from celebrating that night! A group of my close friends gathered at Settobellos! I love their Margherita pizza! I inhale that thing like the air we breath! After filling our bellies, we heaed over to Key on Main! Man, talk about a crazy time! All of my friends came from work, school, old, new, and just everyone I love was there to hang out!

Thanks to my PACT friends, Nappi and Steven, I got called up on stage... How embarrassing! It's different if you can sing along to the song, dance a little, shake your bon bon... but when it's a song you've never heard and they're saying explicit language you wouldn't want your mom to hear? That's when I get embarrassed! I had a red boa and I'm pretty sure my face matched!

Thank goodness for Teisha! She saved my bacon! I couldn't stand to be up there solo!

Sunday the Savage clan got together for my birthday dinner. Kendyl helped make cheese cake for my birthday cake!

I had a terrific 30th and am very excited for a new decade!

First Grade!

My little K Star started first grade! Kendyl loves school! She is attending another year at American Heritage! Her teacher's name is Mrs. Bailey and Kendyl really enjoys her. She has lots of friends from Kindergarten in her class and continues to do well in all aspects! Reading, math, science, writing, chasing boys, being friends with everyone and just being herself!

Kendyl has a class pet. Tiger (a snake). The other day she came home and told me that the class got to watch Mrs. Bailey feed the snake it's lunch! A frozen mouse! She said that sometimes Tiger likes them frozen and sometimes he likes them thawed because it's easier for him to swallow.

This is her first morning of school! (Sorry for the blur!)

Kendyl and Nicole! Nicole was at ARUP's daycare with Kendyl too!

On the third day of school, I dropped Kendyl off and right as I was leaving the parking lot I got a call from Miss Jackie. Kendyl was walking into the building and tripped! She caught herself with her lip! Poor thing - she was more worried about what her lip looked like that how it felt. The next morning it was all ready scabbed over and still swollen. Everyone was really sweet with her when she arrived. She was so paranoid about what all her friends were going to say! Girls will be girls no matter what age we are!

Life Changing...

Summer Recap

Summer is practially over and I haven't even blogged about it. I'll be honest and don't really remember all the fun things we've done. But I can go over some high lights of Summer 2009!

Swimming lessons, learning how to ride a two wheeler,Jackson Hole, sleep overs with cousins, BBQ's, family vacations, hiking, birthday parties, Lagoon, Hertiage Park, scooter riding, Park City get away, The Zoo, Snowbird, bike races, and sun tans... basically explains what we've been doing the last few months...

Our family spent a few days in PC at the Marriott and had a blast. The kids swam pretty much every day and in the evenings we all hung out, ate and goofed off. The Apline Slide and Coaster were definitely the highlight of the trip.

Kendyl and I were/are in a Rocky Mountain Power commercial. We did the shoot a few months ago and I still haven't seen it! We've had a few auditions here and there, but haven't landed anything yet. Every time we have an audition, Kendyl is so nervous/excited about them. After they are over; she asks if we're going to be rich soon? It's hilarious!

Kendyl learned how to ride her two wheeler! She has a bike at her dad's house and came home one weekend all stoked that she could ride her bike! I have yet to see her jump on and take off - but she swears she can do it!

One day Kendyl and I were out checking out all the antique/thrift shops down town. We went into Decades and walked out with these bad boyz...

Alissa, Kenzie, Maddy, Kendyl, and Alivia vendured out one afternoon up to Donut Falls. After hitting up Jackson Hole; Kendyl is now the supreme hiker and loves to climb on rocks! I wasn't sure if she'd make it up to the falls since she does have half of my genes... but she loved it!

Kendly's dad LOVES Harry Potter! So when she was invited to her friend Mason's Harry Potter Birthday, she was estactic! I asked her if she wanted to call her dad and ask if she could borrow his "wand" but she replied with, "oh, no mom... that's very special and I don't think Dad will let me play with it." I had to laugh - but thought it was very cute. She went to the party as Hermione Granger. I'll admit that I have no idea about Harry Potter, the charaters, spells, names, etc... Kendyl had to educate me on pretty much everything. She loved the party and looked so cute!

One of the summer activities Kendyl wanted to do was visit Heritage Park. We've driven past so many times and haven't had a chance to hit it up. Kendyl and I went one Saturday and took a tour and spent half of the day looking at all the sites, rode the trolley, looked in all the houses, visited with the "pioneers" and learned a whole bunch about "This is the place..." became.

We watched this lady spin wool and make it into yarn. Kendyl brushed the wool and tried to get out all the sticks, dirt, and clean it up for the spindle. She said she could definitley be a pioneer. (I beg to differ) We had a great time at Heritage Park... Kendyl keeps calling it "Pioneer Park" - I think there's a big difference of the two!

Kendyl sitting in the school practicing her name on a a small chalk board slab

Who really knows if we had relatives in the Savage Livery Stable... I just thought it was cool Savage was on there.

Kendyl in the animal petting area. These goats were so tiny and friendly.

On Labor Day Kendyl, Maddy, Londyn, myself and the parentals headed up to Deer Valley to ride the lifts up the mountain. We looked at all the huge houses and the girls picked out which ones they wanted. We ate lunch up top and then headed up to the top and checked out the sights! The girls were pretending to be courgars and moutain lions... Kendyl pretends to be some sort of animal every day...

It was a little chilly riding on the lift!

The girls being scary mountain animals!

We went on a hike up Brighton to Mary Lake. Since Kendyl is the best "climber ever" she insisted on being the lead, I was in the middle, and Blake was in the back.
She has "pefect: eye sight, hearing, senses, smell, and she is the best climber."
We had to stop at all the big rocks and let her climb all over it. She had to be the leader no matter what. And no matter how long we were on the trail she had to know what we were going to see at the top.

We made it! Kendyl found about 12 different kinds of Harry Potter wands and also was a cougar the whole way down!

Puff The Magic Dragon

Kendyl had a school play on Friday. Her class did the play, Puff The Magic Dragon. Kendyl was a fairy and looked adorable! Mrs. Hunter read the story as the kids acted out the parts. It was really cute!

Bella and Kendyl - Best Friends!

Cute Kira, Me, Kendyl, Victoria, and Eugenia...

Mom and K Star after her play! Good job Babe!

Summer's A Comin'

School is almost out! Two more weeks and Kendyl will be free from homework and early mornings! Kendyl loves to miniature golf! We went up to Cherry Hill and tried out the course there. We had a great time! Kendyl had to wear her new "high heels" and was having a heck of a time walking, standing, and golfing! But it was still great!

Not only is mini golf a fun activity we like to do - but so is playing at the park! Yesterday we went to Sugar House park to watch the bike race and play on the playground. K snapped these quick photos of Kendyl playing on the jungle gym. She loves the monkey bars! Kendyl had blisters by the end of the afternoon!

Next up! Swimming lessons! This summer should be a good one! We can't wait!!

Tonsils Be Gone!

My little one got her tonsils out last Thursday and was the biggest trooper ever! Kendyl's had Strep about 8 times this last year so I figured it's time to get those tonsils out!
I had prepped her the best I could and made sure there was mounds of positive energy about the surgery...that she gets to pick a flavored scent of air to breath and this will help her so she won't be sick all the time...
The night before her surgery, I asked her if she was scared. She said a little but wasn't sure what she was scared of. My dad gave her a blessing and told her the surgery will go well and that this will help her not get sick, and blessed her to be brave, etc... After the blessing she was teary and I asked her if she was OK... She replied with, "I'm just a little emotional Mom. I'm really happy that Grandpa said those things." It was the cutest comment ever. She's so sweet and has the most tender Spirit.

Kendyl's surgery was at Primary Children's Hospital. Her doctor, Albert Park, is amazing and was really great with her. The nurses up there were fantastic and helped Kendyl feel safe and made sure she understood the procedure.

Soon these tonsils will be gone!

Kendyl in her "pj's" which were so soft and comfy. She was showing me how tough she was.

Thome, a hospital dog visited the kids waiting for surgery. Kendyl got to hear his heart beat and play with him for a bit

After waiting for about 2 1/2 hours, Kendyl was still in a great mood and hadn't even complained about how long it was taking. Finally the time came for Kendyl to roll through the double doors in her wagon. She was the best little girl ever! I was a little nervous, but knew that she'd do great.

Twenty-five minutes later she was out and had done excellent! Dr. Park took out her tonsils and adenoids. She didn't have a hard time waking up from anesthesia and was ready for her root beer slushy. She was a little dizzy, which is normal waking up, but shortly after she was feeling normal.

This is right after she got out of surgery

Taking our her IV. She didn't even flinch!

I'm so proud of Kendyl and how brave she was! I'm happy that her tonsils are gone and am looking forward to a healthier little girl!
